QCTO Skills Programme
Develops practitioners capable of supporting the assessment and energy-performance certification of buildings within South Africa's energy-efficiency regulatory environment. The programme builds knowledge and practical capability relating to building energy performance and the requirements associated with Energy Performance Certificates, supporting national objectives around energy efficiency, responsible energy use and improved building performance.
Completion of this programme does not in itself authorise a person to issue Energy Performance Certificates. All applicable regulatory, registration and competency requirements must be satisfied separately.

Candidacy Programme
Structured Development Pathway
A structured development pathway designed to help candidates bridge the gap between academic or technical learning and the requirements of the workplace. The programme combines workplace readiness, structured development, practical exposure, mentoring and career preparation to help participants progress towards occupational competence, professional development, trade-related opportunities or placement with suitable employers. It can be customised in partnership with employers and funding organisations according to the occupational pathway being supported.

The programme develops practical employability capabilities including professional conduct, communication, workplace safety, digital literacy, teamwork, personal accountability and job-readiness, so that participants enter workplaces with more than a technical qualification.

Enterprise Development
Supports aspiring entrepreneurs and emerging small businesses in developing the knowledge and practical capability required to establish, formalise and grow sustainable enterprises. Participants are introduced to business planning, customer development, costing, financial management, marketing, compliance and basic business operations. Within our broader model the programme also supports technically skilled graduates and artisans who wish to progress from employment into entrepreneurship and create employment for others.

Practical Maintenance Skills
Develops practical entry-level maintenance and general trade capabilities that can support employment, self-employment and community-based enterprise opportunities. Training introduces participants to basic electrical work, plumbing, maintenance, fault identification, tool use and general repairs, with appropriate emphasis on safety and on the limits of work that may lawfully be undertaken without specialised registration or supervision.
